Recently observed does not mean recently updated

How to read source dates, request deadlines and the unknowns between them.

Every useful research note needs a date. But different dates answer different questions. The date a researcher viewed a page is not necessarily the date its underlying information changed.

Observation date

CCN’s source notes record when a page was observed. The seed used for these articles was observed on October 1, 2026. Many source pages did not provide a verified update date, so the publisher’s update date remains unknown.

Listed deadline

A supplier-request table may give only a calendar date. Without a time, timezone and current publisher confirmation, that date cannot establish whether a request is open or closed at a particular moment. CCN treats a passed listed date as a reason to verify, not as proof of closure.

Conflicting labels

The reviewed NCMEP index carried a 2025 update label while the linked Manufactured in North Carolina request table contained 2026 closing dates. This mismatch belongs in the evidence notes. It does not prove that every linked request is stale.

Read the limit with the finding

A careful note preserves the source URL, observation date, publisher date when known and any uncertainty. Before a purchasing decision, return to the publisher’s current record and confirm the details. This site has no automated opportunity feed.

Sources & provenance

Original editorial analysis based on a bounded local research snapshot. The source observations below are historical; these pages have not been rechecked for this publication. Publisher update dates were not established.

Only links and independent paraphrases are used. No source photographs, documents, directory profiles or contact lists are republished. Inclusion is not endorsement or supplier qualification.
